Welcome back to Doula Trainings International! We're excited to offer a lifetime certification option designed specifically for doulas like you who have trained with us in the past. Our certification process remains straightforward and intuitive, regardless of when you completed your training. You'll have the opportunity to achieve a certification that never expires, validating your expertise for years to come.

This lifetime certification is perfect for doulas who have previously trained with Doula Trainings International but did not complete certification. It allows you to formalize your training, demonstrate your continued dedication to the field, and align yourself with an organization that shares your values. Who is eligible?
If you have trained through a different organization outside of DTI, with a proof of training document you are eligible for lifetime doula certification corresponding with the training you completed:
- Birth trainees may certify for life as a DTI birth doula
- Postpartum trainees may certify for life as a DTI postpartum doula
- Full-spectrum trainees may certify for life as a DTI full-spectrum doula
All DTI requirements must be completed. All client work documented must have occurred within the past 12 months and after your training.
What are the certification requirements?
- A proof of training document denoting the date(s) you completed a full-spectrum (or birth or postpartum) training with another organization (if you trained with DTI, you don't need this)
- Completion of the Birth Equity and Slow Doula Method modules included with your DTI Certification Pathway purchase
- A typed copy of the local resource referral list you use with your clients
- Outline of your business strategy: your goals for the next 1-5 years
- DTI full-spectrum (or birth or postpartum) reading checklist
- Short essay: role of a doula, as if you were speaking to potential clients
- Short essay: how you are making or plan to make an impact as a doula in your community
- A proof of current infant & child CPR certification
- Form documenting your observation of a birth class or series in the last 12 months (full-spectrum and birth doulas only)
- Form documenting your observation of new parent support group or infant care/feeding class in the last 12 months (full-spectrum and postpartum doulas only)
- *Evaluation forms for 3 **labor/birth clients and 3 corresponding stories/journal entries from the doula's perspective. May include Cesarean birth stories. (full-spectrum and birth doulas only)
- Evaluation forms for 2 postpartum clients (full-spectrum and postpartum doulas only)
*Client work documented for certification must have occurred within 12 months from the time you submit your completed checklist.
**Certifying DTI full-spectrum doulas are permitted to submit up to 2 instances of reproductive health support, such as abortion care work, fertility treatment support, or miscarriage & loss in place of labor support.
What if I need access to the DTI training modules but don't need to certify?
If you are a trained DTI doula you can renew your membership to regain module access. You'll need to email us: hello@wearedti.com and we'll get you set up!
What if I want to train as a DTI full-spectrum doula?
We recommend checking out our start any time / certify any time Full-Spectrum Doula Training Course. The certification pathway is included, as is your first year of membership. Provided your membership remains current, you may certify with us any time, rendering the purchase of a certification pathway unnecessary.
Will I need to re-certify?
Once your checklist is completed, you'll never have to recertify with DTI. If you're working as a doula, you’re staying current. We do recommend considering the DTI Community Membership! The support and resources provided here include access to special continuing education classes each month.
