We’re Online Until 2021: Doula Trainings International’s Response to COVID-19

We’re Online Until 2021: Doula Trainings International’s Response to COVID-19

Thank you for the patience as our team has rallied through a few months of rapid COVID-19 changes. We’re taking all coronavirus measures and social distancing suggestions seriously, and with that comes a few changes to our programs. Keep reading for recommendations, what to expect and our response to coronavirus concerns.

1.) All of our trainings will be online through December 2020.

In an abundance of caution, all Doula Trainings International (DTI) trainings will be held in our online educational spaces throughout the rest of 2020. This has been a difficult decision for our business, but the safety of our educators and learning community will continue to come first. Click here to access our schedule.

2.) Registration for all of our online trainings is now open.

Since 2016, we’ve been proud to offer quality, digital doula trainings—and we don’t plan to stop anytime soon. Our educators are skilled virtual facilitators and we recently migrated to a state-of-the-art platform to better accommodate online learning. This year, we will continue to offer the following trainings online:

As part of our membership upgrades, we’ve also made a new free trial available. In case you missed it, anyone who is interested in our trainings can now sign up for a membership with DTI on a 14-day free trial—and receive access to our Slow Doula Method® course for free. You can learn more about membership and all we have to offer by clicking here.

With our 2020 schedule finalized, we are proud to reopen our scholarship program for BIPOC and/or trans, two-spirited or gender non-confirming birth workers, too—and for the first time ever, the program will apply toward online trainings. Click here to learn more about the program’s history, requirements and how to apply.

3.) Our annual conference, BORN INTO THIS, is now entirely virtual on September 16, 17 and 18.

On September 16, 17 and 18, BORN INTO THIS will be back for three days of virtual community-building, conversation and creative sessions—all exploring parenting, reproductive health, sex, birth and social justice. Hosted live and entirely online, our lineup includes everything from panel discussions on reproductive health and harm reduction to family-oriented workshops on anti-racism at home.

This year’s conference will also introduce a virtual pop-up market for parents, wellness workshops, plus intimate gatherings and entrepreneurial networking for birth workers and parents alike. So, whether you’re a parent, budding reproductive health activist, new mama or working doula, come join us this September to connect with like-minded, future-forward reproductive health advocates and experts.

PS:  Tickets, the program, scholarship requests and market applications are available now at wearebornintothis.com/conference.

4.) Are you pivoting to virtual spaces, too? Access our COVID-19 community calls for free.

On March 20, the DTI educator team began a series of five community calls to support doulas as they navigate their work during safer-at-home restrictions and times of social distancing. Click here to access all of the replays and recaps. You can also click here to read “How To Provide Virtual Doula Support,” our written summary of the calls.

5.) Take care of you, maintain social distance and stay tuned.

As we receive more and more information from the CDC and World Health Organization regarding COVID-19 recommendations, we’ll update you and our community about changes at Doula Trainings International (DTI), BORN INTO THIS and/or barriers to expect within the birth world.

In the meantime, please take care of yourself and others. Beyond facing coronavirus, so many of us are home with children, saddled with financial fears or navigating other barriers at this time. Compassion, empathy and a helping hand (from a distance) go a long way right now.

Stay well,
team DTI
