REPLAY: birth control options & access // workshop
Birth Control Options & Access will be Thursday, August 1st at 5pm CT / 6pm ET
Facilitated by Jade Hillery, a sexual and reproductive health educator since 2011, this workshop takes a deep dive into the most up-to-date information regarding birth control options, pros and cons, as well as issues of accessibility in the context of community support, reproductive health and justice.
Workshop goals:
-Review main birth control types, pros and cons, and related considerations and use cases
-Discuss use cases in the context of doula care with clients wishing to explore options
-Become fully informed on the top resources and support available for pregnancy prevention and other common uses and forms of birth control
-Leave this workshop empowered, confident and well-informed!

This workshop is led by DTI educator Jade Hillery
Jade Hillery lives in the DC Metropolitan area. She’s been in the sexual and reproductive health education and care field since 2011. Through her sex education and health promotion work with different Black and brown communities she was inspired to become a doula and started her journey in 2017.
Jade believes that everyone deserves compassion, education, and support across the spectrum and throughout her doula journey she has had the honor of supporting a variety of experiences and families. Her passions lie in helping people tap into their own power and strengths; creating affirming learning spaces; and supporting people in making the decisions they feel are best for them. Despite the many hats she wears as a doula, birth educator, erotic movement instructor, facilitator, and learning designer she sees all these roles as different manifestations of her passions.
In addition to her role with DTI Jade is also a board member for Aaliyah in Action and a member of the Education and Training department at Planned Parenthood Federation of America. When she’s not with clients or teaching Jade fills her time walking long trails, touring restaurants, traveling, dancing, listening to podcasts, and attending concerts and shows.
