December 17th: planning for antiracist care work // workshop

Planning for Antiracist Care Work will be Saturday, December 17th at 12pm CT / 11am ET

This is a four-hour virtual workshop. BIPOC designed and facilitated, this participant-driven course uses several training techniques (large group discussion, peer coaching, breakouts, lecture, role-playing, and video) to ensure both scaffolded learning and in order to account for a variety of learning styles. Designed specifically for care-workers, this course discusses key topics while also leaving ample room for participants to drive the discussion. The course is fully captioned for accessibility, includes a completion certificate template and verified attendance.

Bias isn’t the only factor in eliminating race-related disparities in care. Our systems were created with inequity and racism built-in, and combating that will take both individual knowledge and collective effort.

This four-hour training discusses:

+Systemic oppression and power

+Medical experimentation

+Tools for transformative care

+Managing implicit bias in care work

+Relationship-based care

+Course correcting for bias

This workshop is led by guest facilitator Jen Sarduy
